Activity 3.1 - Human Population

ACTIVITY 3.1 :
HUMAN POPULATION

Country name: Northern Africa

Birth Rate: 23

Death Rate: 6

Population Growth Rate (rate of natural increase): 1.7

Life Expectancy: Males 61, Females 65, Total 63

Fertility Rate (average number of children per childbearing-aged female): 3.0

Gross National Income (GNI): $11,702

Country name: Western Asia

Birth rate: 19

Death rate: 5

Population growth rate (rate of natural increase): 1.4

Life expectancy for males and females: Males 72, Females 77, Total 74

Fertility rate (average number of children per childbearing-aged female): 2.5

Gross National Income (GNI): $35,707

Most of the numbers in the two countries do not have much difference in range; the death rates in Northern Africa and Western Asia are almost the same, and the same goes for the population growth rate. When it comes to the life expectancy in these two countries, it shows that the life expectancy for males and females in Western Asia is greater than it is in Northern Africa. Life expectancy in these two countries is very similar to that of the World data. Still, the other numbers in the world data range from higher to lower than those given for Northern Africa and Western Asia.
